For the second year in a row, Ivanhoé Cambridge has been named one of Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens by Corporate Knights magazine. We are proud to be ranked 23rd this year, a four-point improvement over 2019.
The decisive criteria that enabled us to move up in the ranking reflect, among other things, the improvement of our waste management performance, our employee turnover rate and our responsible choice of suppliers, as well as the implementation of mechanisms linking executive compensation to corporate social responsibility (CSR) targets.
This recognition is consistent with our strategic plan and demonstrates our CSR leadership.
We were selected from among 273 Canadian companies with revenues over $1 billion and were evaluated on 21 environmental, social and governance key performance indicators compared to our peers and using publicly available information. Canada’s 50 Best Corporate Citizens set the benchmark for sustainability leadership in the country.
The winners of the 2020 edition were recognized at a virtual gala on June 25 organized by Corporate Knights magazine. Nathalie Palladitcheff, our President and CEO, accepted the award on behalf of Ivanhoé Cambridge: “As a long-term investor, we believe that what is sustainable is going to be profitable. With Canada having 12 of the top 50 investors in real estate, we have an opportunity to lead and shape the real estate of tomorrow.”
