Ivanhoé Cambridge unveils its Aux Alentours cultural village

A one-of-a-kind summer experience in the form of a stroll through in its flagship properties in downtown Montreal

Montreal – This summer, Ivanhoé Cambridge invites everyone in Montreal to experience Aux Alentours while strolling through its downtown properties. Since the beginning of July, Aux Alentours is happening at Place Ville Marie’s Esplanade PVM, Centre Eaton de Montréal, Place Montréal Trust and Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel. Esplanade PVM has taken on the look of a port village with a warm, lively atmosphere, and the other three properties will also feature the same vibe.

Relaxation, discovery and inspiration

Whether you take part in a yoga session, enjoy a 5@7, hold an outdoor meeting in a place where you may be surprised by a spontaneous performance or simply take time to soak up the atmosphere of downtown Montreal, Aux Alentours will delight you all summer long. But you may need several visits to experience the vibrancy of Esplanade PVM, the exceptional shopping and culinary offerings at the Centre Eaton de Montréal and Place Montréal Trust, and the timeless charm of Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth.

“With Aux Alentours, the completely revitalized Esplanade PVM, which reopened a few weeks ago, starts its first summer by reclaiming its role as a venue for events and cultural activities. Ivanhoé Cambridge wants to breathe new life into its public spaces and to be a major contributor to downtown Montreal’s vitality, so it’s welcoming people and offering them unique activities in the heart of the city,” said Annik Desmarteau, Ivanhoé Cambridge’s Vice President, Office, Quebec.

“This initiative is based on a ramble through the heart of our downtown Montreal properties and allows us to create connections between them within a defined area; it gives the public the opportunity to stroll from place to place, going from inside to outside, combining a shopping trip with a social and cultural encounter,” added Johanne Marcotte, Ivanhoé Cambridge’s Vice President, National Operations and Leasing Quebec, Retail.

Free activities at our downtown properties

You can head to Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth for a special guided tour of the art collection found throughout the hotel, by reservation.

In the central court of Centre Eaton de Montréal, music takes the spotlight with performances by singers as well as creative Split Sessions, where an artist creates a piece inspired by the music of an on-site DJ, on several Fridays this summer.

At Place Montréal Trust, creativity is in the forefront in Le Lab, a pop-up space featuring fashions designed by LaSalle College graduates and workshops with emerging contemporary artists involved in Art Souterrain’s Créer des ponts project. And in the food court you can capture the moment by taking a photo in a special Aux Alentours setting.

On Esplanade PVM, it’s time to relax with a yoga session, available by reservation. And you can celebrate summer during a Thursday 5@7, also by reservation.
