Ivanhoé Cambridge announces today that it is investing more than $55 million in the revitalization of Mic Mac Mall. The renovation of the shopping centre will include new upgrades in the common areas, such as the renovation of the food court on the third level, with new seating, lighting and dining options.
“Mic Mac Mall has a dominant position in Greater Halifax,” said Claude Sirois, President, Ivanhoé Cambridge Retail. “This project will help redefine its retail and service offering and will enhance its competitive positioning, which will benefit the 5 million discerning visitors that shop at Mic Mac Mall every year.”
The project also includes the complete replacement of the floor and handrails throughout the centre, renovation of the washrooms, together with a new family washroom, the relocation and replacement of the existing centre court escalators and the replacement and relocation of the south court escalators to create additional retail offerings. A new entrance at the south-end of the property will be added, and upgrades to the exterior entrances and lighting are to be undertaken.
Mic Mac Mall will remain open during the entire project and the majority of the work will be completed by the end of 2019.
