The Newly Revamped Oshawa Centre Hosts Career Exhibition

Oshawa Centre retailers looking to hire up to 700 employees at August 13 event. New retailers announced.

Oshawa Centre, the largest enclosed shopping centre in the Durham Region, will be hosting a career exhibition on August 13 to fill approximately 700 full-time and part-time jobs that support the new retailers and dining establishments in a growing shopping centre.

Interested prospective employees are invited to attend the career exhibition at the Oshawa Centre on Saturday, August 13 from 10 am – 6 pm. Up to 60 retailers will be on hand to accept applications and conduct on-the-spot interviews. Job seekers need to bring to the event one piece of photo ID plus an up-to-date résumé.

The career exhibition comes just prior to the unveiling of an impressive $230 million expansion and redevelopment of the Oshawa Centre. Grand opening celebrations will take place on September 29, starting at 9 a.m. Many exciting activities are planned for the grand opening and beyond and the general public will be invited to join.

“With the addition of 60 exciting new brands and two new dining establishments, the new Oshawa Centre not only provides a fantastic shopping experience but also brings significant employment opportunities to the Durham region,” said Chris Keillor, General Manager, Oshawa Centre. “Our upcoming career exhibition is a great way for our retailers and prospective employees from the community to connect.”

“A job fair looking to fill approximately 700 full-time and part-time jobs in the City of Oshawa is exciting news. The redevelopment and expansion of the Oshawa Centre is revitalizing our city and proving once again that Oshawa is the right place, and one of the best places to live, work, learn and invest. The City of Oshawa is vibrant, alive, and open for business,” said Mayor John Henry, City of Oshawa.

For job seekers that are unable to make it to the career exhibition, Oshawa Centre now makes applying for jobs even easier with the implementation of the WIRKN app, which allows prospective employees to search and apply for jobs directly through their mobile device. Job seekers can simply download the app and search ‘Oshawa Centre’ to find hundreds of openings.  They can apply directly through the app by completing a WIRKN profile and recording a video application. Visit the WIRKN kiosk at the career exhibition to get started.
