Creating well-being through tomorrow’s living spaces

For Ivanhoé Cambridge, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is at the very core of our mission. Creating living spaces that foster the wellness of users, and the wellness of the planet as a whole, is in itself a tremendous responsibility. As is wisely investing the funds entrusted to our care. This principle underpins all of the decisions made and actions undertaken by Ivanhoé Cambridge, from developing top-quality buildings in accordance with the highest industry standards and finding effective ways to reduce our carbon footprint, to providing our employees with motivating work environments and giving back to the community.

CSR 2020 Vision

At Ivanhoé Cambridge we’ve developed a CSR vision for 2020 to be recognized as a real estate industry leader in terms of CSR and to position ourselves as one of the most respected companies in this field. This commitment is built around five main objectives: ensuring healthy living environments, guaranteeing optimal environmental performance, generating a meaningful and lasting impact in the communities where we operate, being recognized for our highly engaged talent and implementing best practices in governance. In 2017, we set up a working group of representatives from each business unit and corporate services to come up with an integrated action plan, complete with targets aligned with our strategic objectives. We aim to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into every facet of our business processes.

2017’s CSR Highlights

We take corporate social responsibility (CSR) into account in all of our decisions and actions at every level of the organization. As such, we combine our Activity and CSR reports into one comprehensive report.

Corporate Governance

Good corporate governance makes it possible to make well-informed decisions to achieve a given set of objectives while still keeping risk at bay. In an effort to address stakeholders’ expectations in terms of performance and corporate governance, we at Ivanhoé Cambridge, have put a cohesive decision-making process in place, coupled with an efficient oversight structure.

Sustainable Development Goals

For the first time, Ivanhoé Cambridge incorporated the sustainable development goals presented by the United Nations in September 2015, which we are committed to rsepect. The predominant aim of these goals is to put an end to poverty, to fight against inequality and injustice, and to protect the planet. We do not claim to fulfill all 17 goals at this point in time, but the initiatives put forward have allowed us to address at least 10.
