Job Description and Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for the preventative maintenance program for all mechanical systems, building management systems and life safety equipment. Specific functions include daily inspections of the building mechanical and electrical systems and all required maintenance and repairs. This includes lighting/electrical systems, chilled/heating water systems, rooftop equipment, compressors and boilers, as well as HVAC control systems and fire alarm/sprinkler systems. In addition, the monitoring and assisting of contractors in the efficient performance of their contracted duties, recording mechanical readings at regular intervals, maintaining preventative maintenance program for all life safety equipment and performing minor repairs, and maintaining good public relations with tenants. Evening and weekend work will be required.

Experience Requirements

Successful applicants must possess a valid trades qualification in electrical as well as 5 years of practical mechanical/HVAC experience with a strong background in HVAC controls and DDC systems. A valid 4th class Power Engineering or Gas ticket and knowledge of pneumatic controls are assets. Must be a resourceful team player with excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
